Hotel 626 - Blu-ray Forum

Haven't seen it mentioned here, so I figured I'd throw it out there for people who haven't heard about it yet.

It's basically a website/interactive video thing paid for by Doritos (I'm assuming it's not considered viral marketing, because it says Doritos in the opening credits).

Anyhow, it's a bit of a horror thing, and can only be accessed between the hours of 6pm and 6am (they want to make sure you play it when its dark out, and advise you to wear headphones, and turn out the lights). What's interesting about it is that if you have a webcam, microphone and cell phone, all of those can be incorporated into the game/video.

Couldn't access it cause it's 9:30 am over here but what I saw made me curious. I gotta try this thing tonight after 6 pm ...

I wonder if (and assume) it tracks your IP address, to figure out what time it is wherever you are accessing the site from, to keep the 6pm-6am time in effect for everyone, rather than a single time zone.

This would be the smart move and keep people curious (talking in forums). But it's not, my current time is 8:46 PM. My clock is wrong on my computer, it shows 5:46 PM. When I corrected it, the site worked. IP Tracking would have been the smart choice.

That was great, you may see my pic up there, lol. I really like how they called my cell (less then one minute), guiding me ass I run down the halls. How they have you sing, lol.

I liked the timing of the cell phone part as well...and then I got some call from a random number around 3:30 last night/this morning, but was too tired to bother answering it to see if it was related to the game again.

Yea, the just called me while I was sending an E-Mail out on my BlackBerry. They said,"You've made it out, but we will be back." Something like that, lol.

I tried this site again until it asked me for personal details, webcam, name, email and stuff so I figured the scare trip is to find that your personal info is eventually spammed or something so I gave up. Or maybe I am just too lazy to do this.

It all ties into the game, you will not here anything else. You will get a phone call (automated) and e-mail. Within about 30 mins after you survive.
