Default Second Hand Blu-Rays

I have found, in my city, several stores that are already selling used Blu-Rays at a much reduced price. It's a store that sells enormous amounts of used DVD's for less than $5 (and they have thousands) as well as Records, Comic Books and collectibles (sometimes even Laserdiscs).

I have had a great experience buying Blu-Rays for under $10. And, each time I go there, I come out with armloads of top-notch special edition DVD's as well - bought for less than the price had I rented them. Yes, they are used, but the quality is still the same, and they are gauranteed 100% refund for two weeks.

Does anyone else have experience with buying used Blu-Rays? Also, is there a trading or selling section on this website for those who have decided that maybe they don't want to keep all of the Blu-Rays they purchased? I just think it's a great way to build up a big Blu-Ray collection fast, and get rid of titles that you think you might have made a mistake on!

Trades and sales and purchases of used BD's via this web forum have been a great way to get more bang for my BD buck. I have not had problems with any disks. Now, rental disks from Netflix are another story. But who knows who masturbates on those.

There are several stores in the SF Bay Area that sell used BDs (in addition to used CDs, DVD, etc.) as well as sealed, 'promo' BDs (though these are pretty few and far between). Although the selection isn't great, there are some good bargains to be had. The ones I've purchased have been in like-new condition.

Second hand Blurays are definitely not for me. I'm way too maniac with my stuff to not shudder at the thought of having scratched discs. And don't say they aren't cause I can feel those are !

I've bought numerous used BD's from Amazon sellers, and have been very satisfied with the quality thus far. Saves me a lot of money too.

They aren't. Scratch-resistant coating and all that.

You're pretty safe with used Blu-rays. I have purchased used PS3 games and used Blu-ray movies in the past and they are always flawless thanks to the scratch resistant coating. Even when I thought I had a damaged disc, a simple wipe with clean dry cloth rendered it good as new. Besides, you can always ask to inspect the disc before you buy it, just to make sure.

I only buy used BD from amazon (if they are like new!) and then from the used CD/DVD stores around town. It is the best way to get them and save money, its the only logical way to do it imho.

I buy a lot from a place here in my town (Clarksville, IN) called "Buy Backs".

They always have new stuff within a week or two of release. They have the Matrix trilogy for $58.99 right now. (That is my next pick-up!)

Stuff drops fast too, for instance they already have Burn After Reading for $17.99 and it's only a week old. I have bought about 10 Blus there with no issues what-so-ever. Most stuff they get is from resellers who haven't even opened the packaging when they bring it in.

I check the pawn shops quite frequently here where I live. The selection always varies but if I can pick up a movie or 2 for about half of what I'd pay for it new, that's fine with me .

I just picked up a blu-ray of the Firefly series at my local music and movie store for $36.00. I saw it on sale new at Target for $70.00 just the other day. I just finished watching the first disc and it was perfect. The discs look clean too. I also picked up a few titles at a local pawn shop for $5.00 each. I have been very happy with used so far.

I've done the same. No problems experienced. But I try to buy from those persons with a rating above 96%. If you buy from someone with a 50% rating on Amazon, don't be surprised if you have an issue to resolve.

Most of my Blu-ray movies have been (99%) brand new. I have bought a couple from the people here without any problems.
