Default Battlestar Galactica (New Series)

This series was MADE TO BE BLU. It looks so incredible on DVD. I would gladly double dip all seasons to get them on Blu-ray.

I'm hoping for a fairly swift complete series release. I'd like this in a nice, concise, blu-ray boxed set.

It's a great show, but I've only watched 1 1/2 seasons of it on DVD. My trouble with it is it's so damn real, showcasing the good and the bad of humanity that it also makes me sorta sad. I've traded in S1 and S2.0, still have S2.5 to watch. But it got supplanted by my new Firefly BD that I got last month. I know S4 is debuting soon, so I'll have to get caught up soon. As for having it on BD, I think I can hold off on that - a complete series BD just sounds so damn expensive to me right now. I'm interested in the Planet of the Apes complete series BD and haven't bought that yet either.

I have the first season on HD DVD. Awful packaging aside, the quality is fairly good. The creators of the show intentionally make it look grainy (they add grain after filming in HD so that the show doesn't look too "clean"), so it'll never be demo material, but I think it looks the way it's supposed to. It should only be a matter of time until Universal brings it to Blu, hopefully with a better case.

If you love quality sci-fi, then you might enjoy it. I had ignored it for years hearing about it but thinking that humanoid cylons was just goofy, but this summer I sat down to watch the mini-series (2 hour pilot episodes) and wow, was I blown away. The next day I literally ran to buy season 1, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 on DVDs ($40 each), started recording Razor (another 2 hour BSG movie) and season 4.0 episodes from cable and thus started my BSG marathon. I just finished season 4 last month and I am waiting for the final ten episodes to start on Jan. 16th.

I am also eagerly looking forward to the entire series on Blu-ray but I am a bit concerned on the possible price; my GF will kill me if I spend $300-400 "on a fraken TV show". I have seen most of season 4 in HD and the earlier season on DVD but thought with the upscaling of my BR player it still looked pretty good.

it doesn't look too great on dvd but it would look awesome on blu. I've never really gotten into it until I started watching it from the beginning on saturday and it's so good so far.
