Question Panasonic DMP-BD35 on a non HDMI system

Hello All,

I need some advice on what would be the best way to set my panasonic DMP-BD35 up. My receiver is a Denon AVR-1505. Neither the receiver or the television Toshiba 46H83 have HDMI. What would be the best way to set the blue ray up? Do I need to replace the receiver or the television?

For audio, the best you can do with that Blu-ray player is digital coax or optical to get 5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS (this would be easiest). I tried looking up that Denon model and couldn't find much. It looks like it is a 7.1 receiver so if you want 7.1 uncompressed audio, you'll need to upgrade your player to the DMP-BD55K and use analog cables.

As for video, you can use component cables to get 720p/1080i.
