It's sitting at a whoppin 7% on R.T. I wasn't expecting an oscar out of this flick, but is it really THAT bad?

Ya know, I was planning to blind buy this flick until I did a little research Sunday night and found out how rotten it apparently is. I couldn't find anyone saying anything positive about it. So now I am thinking about picking up Bangkok Dangerous and Dexter Season One, and forgetting about Babylon AD for the time being.

Bangkok Dangerous was just as bad if not worse than Babylon A.D.

I don't know how radically different the theatrical version was, but I enjoyed the longer version on the BD. The ending is admittedly a bit wtf, but still enjoyable.
Regarding the director having a whinge at Fox for ruining his vision, this is the man that made Gothika of his own free will, and even kept his name on it. What a load of sh!t that movie turned out to be, more like a mediocre tv pilot.

True. There are a few so-called "disasters" that I end up liking and there are also a few "cant-miss" titles that I hate. Usually though, if that large of a majority say something sucks then there is a good chance that it does in fact suck.

Netflix is your friend here....

The whole reason I saw Blair Witch, everyone that said it sucked were the type who would rather see Babylon AD lol.

I watched on Blu a few nights back and expected the worst but it is actually a solid sci-fi flick. There is a lot of religeous sub-text to the film but the action scenes are pretty cool. The transfer is pretty good and the audio is excellent. I would say though rent it first because it seems like a movie that a lot of people will hate as with most critics.

ok guys I have the blu ray and I watched it last night. The movie in my opinion sucked. Now for the blu ray specs. The PQ I give a 4.25 out of 5, the sound quality I can't rate because I don't have a system at the moment. The title screen looks very cool though as their are these digital screens spinning that showcases scenes from the film.

Now when I popped in the BLU RAY it showed a trailer for MIRRORS (some horror flick ) and a trailer for MAX PAYNE. Now the MAX PAYNE trailer as far as the Picture Quality looked F--ing gorgeous, and I disliked this film in the theaters,but the blu ray I will pick up after watching the trailer, but BABYLON A.D please save your cash. Hope you all take my advice as I am no expert on reviews, but I do recognize good PQ being that I pay attention to detail for a living.

Yeah, I checked that earlier today before going to buy it. It's a good example of why I ignore sites like that. I just got through watching the movie and really liked it. It looks/sounds great also. Anyway, cool movie IMO.

Shows how redundant sites like Rotton Tomatoes are, it's always best to make up your own mind, I think. Glad you enjoyed it.

That why I rent first. You can't go with everything you read on rotten tomatoes. I'm one of the few who actually like the Happening. Would I buy it...no, but at least it held my interest.

When John Carpenter's The Thing first came out, it received horrible reviews because everyone was in E.T. happy land. Now it is one of the most beloved sci-fi flicks...and one of my favorite movies.

I'll give Babylon A.D. a rent.

I received Bangkok Dangerous today from Netflix. I think Babylon A.D. is next on my list unless it's check out for forever. I know these are movies are bottom of the barrel but I think they will be fine to watch at home in high definition (with slightly lowered expectations).
