Default Sony BDP-S350 and Samsung LN-S4695D

Newbie here....

Just purchased a Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player and connected it to my Samsung LN-S4695D. I can not generate a 1080p signal on my TV....when I choose a video output signal, anything from 480i to 1080p, there is no video displayed and the TV displays a no signal message.

The only way I can display a picture is to reset the system to the lowest compatible resolution option and play the disc. When this happens, there is no "HD" display on the player screen that indicates an HD signal (720p or 1080p) is being produced by the player. The picture looks great, but I do not believe the player is functioning correctly (I am using an HDMI cable for connection from my player to the TV)

I called Sony Customer Service and they told me my TV was not 1080p compatible, which is BS

Anyone have a similar problem or have any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

PS...This is the first disc I have put in the Player - "Hancock" rental from BlockBuster
