Question Final Fantasy VII – Advent Children Complete – Free With New 80GB PS3's June 2nd

Quote:
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, the long awaited Blu-ray extended cut of the 2006 movie, releases next week. You should definitely check out our review if you haven't decided to pick it up yet. If you're planning on purchasing a PS3 at GameStop next week, though, you may not have a choice in the matter. The retailer has confirmed to Joystiq that it has received shipments of Advent Children Complete which employees are to bundle with 80GB PS3s at no extra charge.

This bundle will only be available temporarily, we're told. The film just happens to release on June 2, which is the same day as Sony's E3 press conference -- so there's a chance this is a bullet point on SCEA prez Jack Tretton's speech notes. For those of you who saw Advent Children Complete's release as a reason to pick up a PS3, this is an offer you can't refuse

I love FFVII, it was a great game. I would buy a remake of the game as long as the graphics are as good or better than FFXIII. They did a great job on the movie Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children. I only hope they have can get the cast to reprise there rolls for the remake.

I can't wait for Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children to come out on Blu-ray. Does anyone have any ideas has to when this will happen?

May 12th - Square-Enix Party 2007. There should be some more Advent Children Complete details and maybe a trailer released then.

I think that they should concentrate on making newer and better games, instead of making older games better.

I do agree with that comment however, when releasing new games they try to steer away from the format that made them a success in the first place. In XIII, it is no longer turn based strategy, it's turn based whack and chop, youuse a gambit to do all your healing and attacking for you. Half the fun has gone.

I agree with you.
But Look at Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it's a remake of Ninja Gaiden Black, which was a remake of Ninja Gaiden. It's the same game; expect extra items, enemies and a few new levels.

If remakes are going to happen, I can only think of few games I would like to see remade, with better graphic and maybe extra levels and add-ons.

1. Final Fantasy VII
2. Star Wars X-Wing Vs. Tie Fighter and it's add-on.
3. Wing Commander Series
4. Halo

Halo, if you want to see a remake with extra levels then look at Halo 2, same thing but more boring and tedious.

I like turn based strategies. FFVII was great. Does anyone remember Final Fantasy Tactics for PS? I would like to see a few more games like that.

Gladius for Xbox was another great turn base game that my friends and I use to spend hours playing.

Not sure how I'm going to like the gambit system, but I'm keeping an open mind on FFXIII.

Why remake FFVII when they had a remake already with extra levels, it's called FFVIII.

Simple answer, they're not the same.

Also to quote you "when releasing new games they try to steer away from the format that made them a success in the first place."

Yeah and FFVIII is the worst one out of the lot.

Hmm, some people find it strayed too much into Sci-fi, but it was definitely not the worst, IX and X-2 are the worst. VIII is one of the better ones, and I started playing when Kefka was the baddie, VIII had the much more customisable junction system which some people didn't like, but I loved it as I never had to bother getting to lvl100 to complete the game.

I would have to agree X-2 was probably the worst Final Fantasy game. IX wasn't too bad, I think some people didn't like the way the characters look compared to VII & VIII, it was more a medieval theme than the futuristic styles of VII & VIII. I was happy to see they brought back Vivi the typical Black Mage of the Final Fantasy series. A reason I didn't care for IX as much as VII, & VIII was that the main character was Class: Thief. I also like the customizable junction system from VIII, although it took me a while to get use to it.

Cool As I see it...

As much as we would love to see new games, it wouldn't hurt if they remade some of their games. FFXII and FFX-II proves that SE is running out of ideas for great stories for more games. FFXII was not that bad and I kind of like the new battle system. FFX-II was a waste of time. The way I see it, it gives them the chance to look back at what made them so great and help drive future games.

With the current trend, I wouldn't be surprised if the story for XIII ends up being almost like XII or if the story was a princess from the past stepped into the future and has to try to find her way back - WITH or without a love story (total guess.)

I would totally love to replay VII and IX and if possible, VI (III) and for those who disagree, just replay one you haven't for a while for five and only five hours from the begining and don't get hooked again, unless you are already playing them. Trust me if you are a fan, it is hard to stop playing after a good five hours, or even an hour and not get hooked

GO SQUARE-ENIX!! (except for making a game for the X360 - dont do this for too long, I would love to see FFXIV before I turn 25)

If they remake FF7, it would because of the demand from the fans for it,not really to "milk FF7 for all it's worth" Square seems to kinda like leaving the regular FF series alone.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Chatter. Plus, the origins of Crisis Core.

Keep asking for the FFVII remake and eventually it will be ours!

remakes of the old FF games would RULE! I love Final Fantasy and I would definitely buy the remakes.

I think it would be good for future games as well because while they are working on the remakes, they would remember what made those games so great and hopefully use that to create something new.

Well if they remade FF7 using the FF13 engine that would rule. It would not take as many resources away from new games this way and would make more sense. Replaying FF7 with a new engine would be awesome.
