Nvidia 9300/9400 Motherboard

I put one of these in my PC exactly a month ago...disappointed!!!! 7.1 audio didn't work, video was good but only 2 channel HDMI audio! EVGA was no help at all and told me that the board could only do 2.0 via HDMI (and sure enough they didn't put it in the manual). Did the firmware updates to my standalone and put it in the front room right above my HTPC - I almost let go ...... but then......

Nvidia to the rescue New driver came out and I installed it instantly and then - 7.1 audio!!!!! No it doesn't bit stream - it takes all the HD audio codecs and converts them via software to LPCM 16bit/48khz. But here's the magic, with Vista - the upconversion trick does work and it has the last sayso of the outgoing signal!!!!! I listened to I Am Legend like never before!!!! I heard detail that was just plain outrageous!!!! (Vista is set to upsample everything to 24bit/192khz)!!!! The LG has left the building - or at least the livingroom and reported to the bedroom!!!! My HTPC is now King again!!!! I don't care about my HD-MA lights or TrueHD lights anymore, my ears aren't lying!!!! It's the best sound that I have heard to this date!!!! I highly recommend this motherboard to anyone interested in a HTPC and use Acrsoft with it!!! This my friends, is the best surround sound I've ever heard!!!! The PCM light is good enough for me folks!!!! Yesssir, I'm good....I'm good!

Now I've got to listen to all of my favorites all over again!!!!!

P.S. ---- Its working with a Yamaha 663 without DVI/HDMI addon!!!! It recognizes it!!!!!
The Yamaha's were notorious for not recognizing HDMI audio from computers and ATI video cards. Well Nvidia got it right!
