A Bluray player needs to have 1 gig memory. If it doesn't have built in memory, then you need another source, hence flash memory.

I under stand u need the memory but can someone explain why.

becuase the content is usually downloaded from the internet.. so the player needs somewhere to store it so you can use it..

Yes, it stays there until you delete it. You can clear the BD Data in the Player OS.
