Never seen it before, looks very interesting. I'm into cult films/Psychological thrillers. Is it worth a buy?

Yes, awesome movie. I had only seen it once on DVD, remembered liking it and wanted to see the Director's Cut that came with the BD, so I bought it. The PQ is excellent and looks like a movie made in the last 5 years.

It is very much worth picking up! One of my favorites! The matrix certainly was inspired by it, but yes def a must have for anyone who loves psychological, philosophical movies. Oh and Sci-Fi as well lol.

Can someone care to explain the main plot of Dark City?

alot like matrix......explaining it in detail would ruin the movie so i'd suggest renting it and seeing what you think. I liked it, but can't imagine watching it more than once a year at best.

Yes. I was in the same boat as you a couple of months ago. I kept seeing the great reviews on Dark City and decided to give it a try.

It looks and sounds fantastic on Blu-ray. It has a similar theme in a way to The Matrix. Much like Event Horizon and Sunshine share similar themes.

Dark City features an intriguing plot, great actors, and the look is downright moody and mysterious! A blind buy for me that I am quite happy with.

I borrowed this BD from a co-worker a while back. I really enjoyed the movie, but I hate to say it, the DNR on this one bothered me so much that it nearly distracted me from the quality of the film. For that reason alone, I won't add it to my collection.

Great movie but the PQ is a DNR'd mess. Second only to Patton I'd say.

Great movie. I blind bought it a couple of months ago for $10.49 and so far it has been one of my best blu-ray purchase.

One of the best future noir films since Blade Runner. Definitely worth seeing and it looks amazing!

It is worth the purchase. I really enjoyed it and the PQ and AQ are excellent.

I love this movie. Its one of my favorites. I haven't seen the blu-ray yet but I hope to get it soon.

No, actually it does not. There might be a similarity here and there but they are mostly different.

And, as always, I recommend a rental first if you've never seen it. Not everyone likes any one movie and this is no exception. I own it and I enjoy it but that doesnt mean you will. There are plenty of "good" movies that I cant stand or feel are highly over-rated. Just rent it and if you fall in love then spend the money.
