Default Need a new Center Speaker to go with my Sony HT-SS2300!!

I want a new CS thats a lot stronger and clearer than what I currently have for my HT-SS2300. I know there are Timbre and calibration issues that arise when switching out HTiB speakers, etc., but does anyone have any experience trading out the CS for this?

I really want the Polk CS...

Is it OK to put an 8 ohm speaker like that on to a HTiB receiver?

I dunno about the 2300, but the 1300 has 3 ohm speakers!!

Is there a trusty (easy) way of knowing what will match?

ohms I will say that you should still be careful. Usually its 8 ohm receiver having trouble with 4 ohm speakers.

Thanks callas01.

It's basically what I though -stick your thumb in your mouth and hold it in the air...

Would I be right in thinking though that 8 ohm speakers on a HTiB with 4 ohm rating is a pretty safe bet, but almost never go the other way or risk amp damage?
