Question What Women Want UK Blu-ray playback problem

I bought a copy of the UK release of What Women Want, but I've been having trouble playing it on my Panasonic BD-35 player. After the anti-piracy warnings, a montage shows up that simply loops over and over again. I cannot access a menu no matter what button I push.

However, when I play it my Samsung player, a menu pops up immediately at the bottom of the frame while the montage is looping over and over. I can play the movie and select scenes from this menu (although I cannot play the bonus features which are SD/PAL).

Does anybody have any idea why the menu is not showing up on my Panasonic BD-35 (or on my Panasonic BD-30 for that matter)? Is there a setting I can change in order to access the menu or is this simply a case of disc-player incompatibility?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Its from Icon Home Entertainment, an independent studio in the UK so its hard to say if the pop-up menu is in PAL format which would explain the Panasonic issue. However, you can access it via the Samsung. Did you do a firmware update for the Panny?

I checked for an update (via the Panny's internet connection) and it said one was not available. I'll try playing the disc through my Atlona PAL/NTSC HDMI converter and see what happens.

Is this a region free Blu-ray?

I'd like to import it to the U.S. if so.
