This thread could be usefull for those who want to build one so i thought i might give this a shot and see who posts. Also if its not too much of an inconvenience post what is inside (specs). My HTPCs are Sony VAIO laptops. VGN-AR series. 2 of them.

I even have a VGN-A series that is considered a HTPC, but is rather limited by today's standards.

Mine are in my HT gallery. I'm upgrading the monitor with a 32" Vizio LCD this weekend. So I'm probably going to post more pictures up this weekend.

Default my htpcs

These days I am using a Digitalis Vision II case I bought used, via the internet.

It's kind of unique in it's second makeover here. New parts are an Asus Z170-P D3 motherboard, 6700 i7 processor, and a 3.5" bay 3.1 usb bay. Reused parts are 8G of DDR3 ram, a first generation 240G ssd, power supply, intake cooling fans, and the Bluray drive. It'll be going in my Middle Atlantic Slim5 av rack. A pre-owned GTX960 4G was also sourced locally via the internet.

It's admittedly overkill for a htpc, but the upgrade cost was covered by selling off it's previous i7 + motherboard, GPU, and leftover parts kicking around from a previous desktop upgrade.

I have a dedicated music htpc also. Black E4 rack case mounted.

And here's my old AVS'er Power (Serge) htpc case. Anodized milled face plate fitted to an old Antec 380B desktop case. It's made me often wonder about simply doing a MDF face plate to retrofit to a case, and giving it a gloss black piano finish, using rattle can paint and fine wet sand paper. Then one could use a old motherboard try from an old computer and custom build an enclosure, to meet any design needs.
