Ya that annoys me too. Thankfully Lionsgate's newest Blu-ray releases no longer use this design. The Forbidden Kingdom was the first release to skip the silver border and spine.

That is the covert art that they used to differentiate their movies!

i remember seeing a green spine crash around blu-ray's launch.

monster's ball is yellow. repo! the genetic opera isn't silver, either. they stopped doing packaging like the format was a niche and it's all unique. Sony did the same thing when they dropped the blue generic discs, disney when they dropped the swoosh. it just takes time.

The good thing Ive noticed is that they usually support DTS-HD MASTER. I never paid much attention to their artwork.

I've never noticed this. Does anyone have any pix of these silver covers? That would drive me crazy ( see my post in the thread about bluray cases ). I'm very obsessive when it comes to uniformity with my Blu-ray cases being on display. I can't even stand the Incredible Hulks green spine. It stands out too much and everytime I go to pick out a movie to watch, that's the 1st title I notice. U could say I'm a bit anal when it comes to that.

Wow, I'm kinda mad they did that with Bangkok. I like each studio's case nuance: The Disney Swoosh, the Lionsgate usage of silver, Paramount's silver border, Fox's black bar, Sony's cool design on the spine and Warner Bros. being plain.

Most of those studio "nuances" haven't been used in awhile. When is the last time you bought a Blu-ray? A year ago?
