if you are a fan of techno/trance... you are doing yourself a disservice for not knowing them...

Carl Cox is great, caught him once. I hate Tiesto and Armin though. Over hyped.

I've seen BT and Uberzone live. Probably my favorite shows ever other than Oakenfold after Tranceport came out.

I really want to see Infected Mushroom and Rabbit in the Moon.

Two years ago I saw PVD. I saw Digweed the year before.

It's funny how rappers always made fun of techno and now they fully embrace it right when I'm growing tired of it. I don't like new electronic but I do love the older stuff.

Former raver.

I do like me some Kevin Rudolf though.

i tired the whole techo/trance thing about 10 years and realized the music, if you can call it that in my opinion, is just too cold for me. i don't really care for music made out of a computer. or a mixing board.

same here. i tried to be, but i like music to be much more organic and warm. for me techno was just too cold. nothing can replace a live human being producing/reproducing sounds from an instrument.

I dont know any rappers that made fun of techno, but I myself never made fun of it...its just one of those genres that everything sounds pretty much the same to me.

I do enjoy Trip Hop though, but thats a lot different than techno as well.

pretty cool lineup! Saw the Prodigy back in the day and they were amazing. have seen moby and Paul van Dyk several times too. Bloc Party? I love those dudes! they kinda stick out like a sore thumb on that bill though. are they the only 'band' on that bill? They aren't very techno but kick ass none the less.

PVD is the only person that can pull off a 4+ hour set properly.

Infected mushroom is horrific music these days…more like some kind of hybrid electronic metal cheese pop than the amazing psytrance they used to make. I remember seeing them outdoors in the mountains in Gifu, Japan, at 7 AM in front of a dancefloor of 8,000 Japanese freaks…ahhh those were the golden days of IM. Their music used to give me goosebumps. Now I cringe anytime I hear Duvdev singing in that grotesquely comical accent of his. Live guitars and singing do not belong in trance.

But on a separate note, I am really glad that huge concerts are still going to happen with the economy where its at...because I was getting worried that RTB 09 might not happen

used to be heavy into the rave scene...I've progressed into triphop/chill now...Thievery Corporation, Zero 7, Tricky, Frou Frou, Sia, Hotel Costes...no desire to ever go to a rave again.

I reallllly wanted to go see Thievery Corp in San Francisco for New Years, though...bummer I missed that one.

I've been wanting to go up to San Francisco for Love Parade but never had the chance. My bro went and said it was fun.

The electronic scene is still alive here in LA and San Diego. Giant has two large clubs down here and Vanguard pulled in Z-Trip a few weeks back.
