I have a Samsung 1080P widescreen TV and a Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P1500 player with very expensive Monster Cables cables the best you can buy for 1080P Blu-Ray players and I still have the black letter box lines on my tv. Whats the point of all of this stuff if you cant watch a movie full screen on your tv. Do I just have the settings wrong or somthing? Please Help.

everything is just fine no problems thats just the way the movie was made and if you want a movie that takes up the whole screen buy movies that say aspect ratio 1.78.1 or 1.85.1 but if it says 2.35.1 or something like that then black bars will be there same as dvd.

because there is more detail on blu than DVD, alot of blu rays are made so that you can see how it was intended. So o. Alot of the bigger movies - such as pirates of the carribean- you will have the black bars. But you are actually seeing more if the movie this way than you are with a 16x9 transfer.

First suggestion:
Read the links provided by members regarding Movies and their Aspect Ratios. Second Suggestion: Take back those expensive Monster Cables, order the same cables from Monoprice.com and what ever funds you have left, buy a couple of Blu Ray Movies, and enjoy. |

if you really want to, just tell your player to zoom in, or have your tv zoom in, either way. ![]() there's nothing you can do about it. tv's nowadays are made for a large variety of movies, aspect ratios are different depending on the movie, some will still have black bars, some will not. |
