Default noob question on wiring front towers....

I'm sure this is very basic, I've just never had to deal with it before as I've always had a different type of speaker (cheap). Just got this set of paradigm towers and they have two sets of spots to screw down your speaker wire to. One set is for high frequency and the other for low. I can only assume that both should be hooked up in order to give you the best of both. For now I have my wires running to the low as the high was basically all tweeter. If I am supposed to run wire to all 4 how would I do so with just one spot to run wire from for L and R on the back of the receiver? either I'm missing some splitter type device i can get from monoprice, or I'm not supposed to run both at the same time....also, it has that little gold toned clip that connects to both the top and bottom positive input.....come explain this to a noob...

thanks,
John

That is for Bi-Amping the speaker. To do so you must first remove that gold clip that connects to the top and bottom as you described. I'm not too familiar with your pioneer amp but if you have a 7.1 setup and all the jacks are used then you need to get an external power amp. If you just have a 5.1 *on my onkyo at least*.. you can use the Surround Back/Left to Bi-amp the Front L/R.

For more information about Bi-amping and Bi-wiring see this thread

not going the full 7.1 currently (kids trip on the wires), so hopefully using the surrounds works fine for this pioneer setup as well. wasn't sure if it would pump sound into them differently when i used that set or not. thanks for the info, i'll hook 'em up and see how they do.

* Before you hook them up, please check the owners manual of your Pioneer Elite. I could be wrong but your receiver might use a different method for bi-amping, there is also a setting to change on your amps menu to change it from normal to bi-amped before you do this.

gotcha....i switched it to bi-amp in the menu showing that the rears were now unavailable, but the regular surrounds were still open and ready for the 5.1 setup (don't leave them plugged in full time).....sounds much better...very full now compared to before....thanks again...
