Default Freezing Problem

I have the Sony BDP-S350 hooked up to my 32 inch Samsung LCD HDTV. My blu ray player was working wonders the first couple of months, until I purchased Hancock. The movie would freeze from time to time and skip scenes. So I thought it was disc since my other movies weren't doing it. So I exchanged it for another and I had the same problem.

So then I watched Cloverfield and the same problem. But my other movies weren't doing it. I bought Eagle Eye it was unwatchable with how much it froze. I couldn't get past the main menu. So I realized there was an update for the player, so I updated it. After updating it Eagle Eye worked flawlessly and I was happy. So I recently purchased, Wanted, The Eye, and Punisher.

So I pop in The Eye and 3 mins in it freezes! Then skips 2 mins worth of movie time and works fine. Then an hour and half into it, it freezes again. What's the problem? It's not the discs, the player is updated. It doesn't do it to all movies. How do I fix this?

Is that the most recent firmware update you have downloaded? Will it play regular DVD's without problems?

Hi, do you still encounter this problem? Since I bought my player (same as what you have, I have never encountered any issues except for these movies that you mentioned:

1. Hancock - never experienced freezing but I noticed a couple of scenes where it has some glitches (seems like showing some dust or something, like old school betamax films

2. Cloverfields - totally p*ssed-off when it froze on me just about the movie's ending. It stopped all of a sudden! tried skipping to the last chapter but with no avail.

Anyway, if you have fixed your issue, please let me know.

I own the same unit and I also had this problem. The unit has two start up modes(regular and quick start). If you have it set to quick start I beleive the unit never shuts down. Try and recycle the unit by unplugging it for a minute or so and then plug it back in.This might work it did for me.
