Default Did the installers do this right?

I had installers come out to mount my 37" Samsung LCD HDTV and hook up my 5.1 surround sound system. My sound system consists of:

Reciever: Onkyo TX-SR606
Front Towers: Polk TSI300 (x 2)
Center: Polk CSI A4
Subwoofer: Polk PSW 125
2 Rears: Polk OWM3 (x 2)

I use my 80GB PS3 as my Blu-ray player. I also have an HD Comcast cable box. Before my installation, I just had my PS3 HDMI cable and the Comcast cable box HDMI cable into my TV. Now, with the Onkyo I thought they would put these two HDMI cables into the Onkyo and then use a new HDMI cable to use from the receiver to the TV. But they didn't use a HDMI cable for the reciever. So now they have the HDMI cables from the PS3 and cable box in to the TV and no HDMI cables whatsoever into the receiver. They just have a Digital Coaxial and Optical cable plugged into the receiver. Now is this right? Or should it be like I thought? I've already listened to some of how it sounds now and it sounds great compared to just my basic TV speakers, but I'm not sure if it's true HD audio. This is my first sound system so I don't know all that much about it like you guys do. Thanks guys for any help and if you need any more info, just ask.

I took some pics of the back of the TV and receiver if that helps. Here they are:
