Default Free Gift from Tower? Blu-ray case opener.

I ordered about $300 worth of blu-rays from tower.com recently and they shipped me a circular device that is used to open that annoying security plastic on the top part of our blu-ray cases... just a heads up if anyone is thinking of throwing down around $300 worth of blu's... Tower gives a free gift!

I spent about $100 and got one too. Nothing too exciting, but it makes opening sealed cases a bit easier.

I received one of those a number of weeks ago. But, I don't recall which order it was with; but, I know at the time that the order was for under $100. Maybe it was just happenstance, the time of year, or the amount we had ordered during the previous year?

There's one on ebay selling for .19 that looks pretty much like yours, except it's red. Unfortunately, the shipping is almost $8!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH

It is a nice gesture but mine didn't work on the Warner style case. I'll stick to my exacto knife.

It would be great to have one though, due to box set Blu's being individually wrapped (for some apparent reason/resale I guess). Some Blu's have been a b!tch to open due to the stupid security wrapping.

Default I got one too!!!

I got one too with my first order, have not used it yet but a pretty cool cd opener! (When I got the package I shook it first(I sure some people other than me do that to make sure that nothings loose in the case!,that contained blu's buy the way,i heard a rattle, and though oh shit,my blu's have been rattling around and getting scrached to high heaven,no thank god,it WAS the cd opener, gasp!,nothing worse than damaged Blu's)

I'll stick to my finger nail getting the sticker off. Actually not as bad as the DVD's that would have 3 seals on them.

Something like that to me is just a waste of money for Tower to even produce..

I mean, how hard is it really to cut a small sliver of the cellophane off and then peel the sticker off???

it is known as advertising. It costs them almost nothing and if the person uses it and adds it to their key chain then they become walking billboards.

I use it for what its for now. It's a lot more convenient than finding my keys or a box cutter. I just leave it near my collection.
