Question: Juggernaut (1974)? Anyone seen it? Your thoughts? Great film or flop. The best disaster film ever? Forgotten failure?
Richard Harris, Aathony Hopkins, Ian Holm, a doomed cruise ship. No one's seen it? Last edited by bruce_pullen; 01-26-2009 at 06:11 PM. |

I saw it a long time a go, and from what I remember, it's a decent film. I wouldn't say it was the best disaster movie ever, but I don't consider it a failure either. It had decent casting too, including a very young Anthony Hopkins. I recall Julian Glover being in that too...he was Richard Harris's boss in that if I remember right...

The film grows on multiple viewings. And it made me feel complete, as only good dramas do. So to me, the film is a forgotten gem. |

it's all right. compared to most of its ilk it certainly is in the upper echelon for the period.

This was a pretty good movie but I never looked at it like one of the big, epic disaster films of the 70's either. Never felt like that to me. Richard Harris is always great and I'd watch pretty much anything with him in it.
Kind of similar movie that I enjoyed more is Ffolkes with Roger Moore. |

Oh wait, only known classics get such a reception. Oh well... we can always dream. |

For example, talking about 70s thrillers, next June they're releasing the remake of The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3. |
