Question Sony Player (Whats the holdup in Europe)

I recently bought the PS3 which is excellent BTW but I am on the lookout for a dedicated player for the living room. I visited the Sony Store and asked when can we expect to see the dedicated player instock. They had a demo model in the shop but the guy running the shop did not know when it was due to ship from the manufacturer and also heard they may simply skip this player and onto the next generation. Sony are certainly making a mess of the dedicated players.

It is probably because the current player costs a lot to make and they don't want to manufacture a bunch of expensive players that are going to be outclassed by newer ones in June.

The BDP-S1 is big and bulky, but the BDP-S1E is much smaller and more like a DVD player in size and function, also it is much cheaper, so Sony are probably going to skip G1 in Europe and go straight into G2.
