This release is separate from full motion comic and more appealing to me. Apparently this release not only includes The Black Freighter story that did not make it into the movie but the documentary style "Under The Hood" as well.

I'll probably pick this one up.

Tales of the Black Freighter is voiced by 300’s Gerard Butler.

Under the Hood is live-action/CGI.

I would get this, but the fact it will be included in the film's extras when its released, I think it would be better to wait and get the whole thing on one BD.

With rumors that this will be included in an everything included extended edition at the end of the year I think I might wait

I would like to think that the studio will release the extended cut at the end of the year. Unfortunately, I have a suspicion we'll get a bare bones disc in November and the promise of an "Extended Cut" sometime in the future.

From what I hear Watchmen will be released on a single Blu-Ray release in July with an extended edition in November. This would follow a similar formula as 300 which was released in theaters in March then Blu-Ray in July. Its unknown whether Warner would include this animated movie in the extended cut

This looks good, and I'll be buying it.

Warner will try and exploit the Watchmen phenomenon as much as possible in the next year. I could easily see a quick single release with a deluxe edition later. I would question though whether they would obsolete some of these early releases by including all the material on a deluxe edition.
