Default How do you tranfer pictures to your ps3 on the newer models(without slots)?

Can someone help me with how to add pics to your ps3, I have a 60gb model but I bought a 40gb and it doesn't have any of the slots can someone help. Is there a way to do it without putting them on cd?

The light on the device doesn't even come on when connected and under photos it doesn't say there is a device connected. The description on the usb device says sd/mmc/rs-mmc usb 2.0. Ususally the light has to come one to show it is connected to the pc.

I don't think anything will show up in the XMB until you have a card inserted to the USB card reader.

Don't you have a regular USB flash drive?

Yeah I have my sd card in there and I don't know what kind of reader it is I got it free with my sd card from a seller on amazon it works when it's connected to my pc. I can take a pic of it if needed. And I put the device in the usb port where we connect our controllers to charge.

if you have a pic on your ps3 already just click copy and pick the usb thing, so if theres no option to save to the usb flash stick then its probably broken. If you dont have a pic on your ps3 just go to a website like yahoo pics and just save any pic to your ps3 that way then copy it to the flashdrive.

If your techie then use PMS/Tversity/Windows media player to stream the pictures across your network. (Thats of course if you have a router). If you want to find out more about this option then just ask anyone.

If your not techie. Just buy a cheap USB stick from any PC store. Put a directory on it called "PICTURE" in upper case. Drag all the pictures to it via your PC and then copy them to your PS3.

With the new photo gallery, you should be able to access your pictures straight from the camera, although I have not tried it.

To do this, put the USB cable you got with your camera and put that into the USB slot of the PS3, put the other end in the camera and follow the prompts. See what happens. Photo gallery was on Firmware 2.6.

If you use an online photo site (like Kodak Gallery or PhotoBucket) you can use the PS3 browser to go to the site, view your pics and save them to your PS3 HDD. Hit triangle and there is an option for saving the picture or file.

You can also burn the pics you want onto a CD and copy the to the HDD that way.

yikes, no SD slots....?

umm you could do a USB jumpdrive but it takes 10x longer than an SD slot transfer would take.

These blueproton usb sleeves work great for SD cards. I see no reason to buy a dedicated USB stick when you can get an SD card and put it into one of these, or even buy a combo pack. I've been using one for a year and my mom has been using one for about 2 years. I personally have the second item there, that 4GB combo pack. My 8GB Transcend brand SD card works great in it as well. it allows my SD cards to work multiple duty in cameras, PS3, and PC.
