ppl in this forum refer to some bd's as catalog titles

I wanna know what exactly is a catalog title????

an older title....something that's a non-new release that is a # of years old but is just now hitting blu-ray for the first time....those titles are normally the ones selling for the 14.99 type prices, although they can obviously higher depending on the title. I assume "catalog" is the term used as the title is part of that studio's catalog, or portfolio of titles they hold the rights to.
