these are just paramount two packs.....if you search amazon you'll notice many of the catalog titles are being re-packaged as two-packs for decent prices...

i just bought I (not a big fan of II or III), and I definitely isn't as bad as it's made out to be; it's a substantial upgrade from the DVD.

Was there a plan to remaster them?
I'd heard the first two were more than adequate, transfer wise.

Was going to pick them up; but will hold back if there's new ones coming?

Anyone know something?

i doubt there are plans to remaster them at this time, they definitely are not that bad. the first has also already been remastered once with the special edition.

be nice if they came out with lossless sound.. shame in a way paramount had released them prior to going HD DVD exclusive when they did.. if they were being released now or in the last 8 months they would have been much better

I agree. 1 was the best. Two was a waste of time. The third one was better than the second but still not as good as the first.

I've been noticing a lot of Paramount two-packs lately in stores, it simply looks like they've taken individual titles and shrunk wrapped them together. No new video or audio on the earlier titles. I thought that they should at least given nicer transfers and lossless audio to us on the ones where they've redone the artwork (you know, early ones that had the Paramount High Def frame on the front, then took it off).
