Default help deciding

Okay once i find a reciever i think Im going to like something happens i read something about it that makes me not get it.So im going to tell you what i need and you throw out suggestions.
1.3hdmi inouts
2.I dont know what its called but lets say your watching tvs and i goes to comercials it adjusts the sound,So that it doesnt blast.
3,at least 100 watts per channel
4.7.1
5.all the new sound formats
6.were all i have to do is pass one wire to the tv
1080p upconversion (optional)

These was the one i had in mind and was set on till i found out i cant pass just 1 wire to the tv.and it doesnt have the sound control for when it goes to comercials. Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K dont really want to pay more then 600.00 closer to 500.00 is going to be better please help

The 2309 will be hard to find under $850.

The 1909 is $650 & 10 watts less that your requested power spec.

An onkyo 706 can be had for about $550, but lacks Dynamic Volume for commercials.

The Marantz SR5003 can be had, refurbished, for $550, but the video processing fails most of the testing performed by Home Theater Magazine, Feb '09.

Can't say for sure on the Pioneer VSX-1018. Power should be there. I don't see Dynamic Volume. $550.

Other brands at this price point fail to meet rated power specs by up to 50%. See my other posts, #15.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...64#post1570664

Looks like you might have to give up at least one of your requirements.

Yeah, go with the Denon. The feature you're looking for is the Audyssey Dynamic EQ or Dynamic Volume. The DEQ brings up low level noises and equalizes it with the rest of the sound...the DVolume will normalize all sound streams. Plus...ITS A FREAKIN' DENON. My 4308 is built like a brick s**t house! You'll love it.

Having the same dilema as you ... The Onkyo 706 is the only one the $550 price range with all the Features you (and Me ) are looking for .. atleast that what it appears to me ... and It DOES have Dynamic Volume ( the same Audyssey as the 806, and the higher end models) .. plus it's THX cert (Select). no Denon receiver with that THX cert. is in the price range of the 706 ... I tried posting this earlier but had issues .. is it pops' up later (Disregard) .. let me know if there are any other issues with 706 I may not be aware of .. cuz I think I'mma order mine next week .. thanx

(correction) The 706 lacks Dynamic Vol. ... but has Dynamic EQ which is what you're looking for ( for commercials) .. According to Onkyo the Audyssey provided in the 706 "The 2008 A/V receiver range features two new Audyssey technologies: (1) Dynamic EQ which selects the best frequency response and surround levels moment-by-moment, for the best listening experience at any volume;" which means it adjust your surround levels for you (in real time). . (on the other hand) "Dynamic Volume, maintains the desired listening level for all content while optimizing the dynamic range. .. In other words.. If you want to keep your sound a set decibel, you can (thus avoiding Db drops)... ... The Dynamic EQ is what prevents the Freq. spikes often associated with lower-quality recordings such as commercials, bootleg movies, home videos, etc...

Just to set the record straight, below is a description of the two. The 876 is the lowest Onkyo model with Dynamic Volume. I owned the 806 for 3 months. It did not have it either. You are looking for Dynamic Volume. Other manufacturers may use different names. It appears that Denon introduces the feature in the 1609.

Audyssey Dynamic EQ: Audyssey Dynamic EQ solves the problem of deteriorating sound quality as volume is decreased by taking into account human perception and room acoustics. Dynamic EQ selects the best possible frequency response and surround levels moment-by-moment as volume is changed. The result is bass response, tonal balance and surround impression that remain constant despite changes in volume. Audyssey Dynamic EQ combines information from incoming source levels with actual output sound levels in the room, a prerequisite for delivering a loudness correction solution. Audyssey Dynamic EQ works in tandem with Audyssey (2EQ, MultEQ, MultEQ XT) to provide well-balanced sound for every listener at any volume level.

Dynamic Volume: Dynamic Volume addresses the issue of commercials that are too loud and movie soundtracks with vast differences between soft and loud passages; the results are more intelligible dialogue, loud passages maintain impact, and soft whispers are clearly heard. When the volume level changes, Dynamic EQ also adjusts the frequency response to maintain sound quality.

Sorry, no experience with those vendors.

Look at the specs on the VSX-01 vs. VSX-03.

Same power output, but the VSX-03 weighs 8lbs more. Just guessing, but that's probably from a better power supply. I know which one I'd bet on to produce a full 100 watts.

Of course it's $100 more. Here's a link:

I know Abe's is reliable.

I addressed the fact that the 706 had no Dynamic Vol... I guess you can make an argumment that both Dynamic Vol. and EQ play a role In the correction of undesired level fluxuation (which plays a biggger role? dats debate-able) .. bottom line, to achive the best results Audyssey XT (with Dynamic Vol ) should provide better results .. but I don't think it warrants the $250 price diff. ..

.. only difference between the Pioneer VSX-03TXH and the VSX-01TXH is HDMI Jitter Reduction that may account for the weight difference ... But is it worth $250 more??? .. I personally have no clue what this feature does? But IM SURE I CAN LIVE WITH-OUT IT ..lol

Why not check into the Denon 2308CI on Abes of Maine, it is only $550 (or thereabouts), granted you wont get the DD THD and DTS HD MA decoding, but if your BDP handles the decoding you can get LPCM and you just got a really nice receiver for half price or more, brand new. And you have volume control, I believe.
