Default Upconvert Question

I have tons of AVI movies on my cpu that I want to watch on my HDTV. Thing is I don't want to hook the cpu up to the tv and I also want them upconverted from SD picture to HD picture. What would be the best way of acheiving this?

You can't "Make" SD material magically appear as HD.... upconverting doesn't work that way.

Your best bet is to connect the T.V. to the PC, although you don't want to ....
