Amazon.de has this listed to be released February 19th. Does anyone know if this is region free? And any spec information?

Also, any information of a US release? Thanks.

Unfortunately they are Region B... only a region free player would play them in the US. I loved this movie, and hope it gets released one day in the US.

How do you know for sure it won't be region-free? It hasn't been released yet.

Yes, precisely Bruce - I asked if anyone knew if this was REGION FREE, I know Europe is Region B.

Actually. Ascot Elite Home Entertainment has a history (thus far) of being region free.

FWIW, it looks like this site says it's ABC. Can someone with the BD confirm?

I actually own this one, but haven't watched it yet.

can't remember offhand if it supposed to be locked or not.

Price has dropped to 13,99 on Amazon.de. Not bad, the lowest its been is 12,89.

You gotta add multiple items. The 14,00 EUR shipping is a flat fee

I am thinking about getting this. I have been on a grand exploration of US films not available as US releases.

The disc does have some extras (interviews and a trailer) in SD PAL, but these can be played on my US multi-region Panasonic BD75 player with the Region Code set to A.

Just one thing to note - there is no initial menu where you can set the audio and subtitle options, and the disc defaults to the dubbed German soundtrack. However, as soon as the film starts, you can display the Pop-up menu and select the English soundtrack with no German subtitles.

Incidentally, it's a very nice transfer!

Thanks - but is there any foreign language dialogue that needs English subtitles in the film?

Without playing the film through again, I can't be sure about this. All I can say is that I don't recall it being a problem when I played the disc.

Finally bought this and as others said, the transfer is nice. China comes alive in the cinematography...just stunning.
