Default To my dear friend Mr. Rourke

You sir, made a wise career choice to stay off of Wrestlemania. Not only have you proven that you do not care about the sport of wrestling whatsoever, but the only reason you did the movie was because you care about some little gold statue. You fall into the same category as every other actor in Hollywood, you don't do what you do for the art of it, or the spirit of it, you only do it for accolades and trophies to sit on your mantle, to bolster your little ego. This is why you don't have the heart to ever become a real wrestler. You have also proven that the only reason you did the movie is because you were trying to get one last payday for your washed up, coked out, drugged out career. This movie was not a biography about a fictitious character, rather an autobiography about your own washed up career, a broken down old druggie trying to get one last payday.

You assume that because you play a wrestler in a 90 minute movie that gives you grounds for criticizing the wrestling ability of Chris Jericho, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, who has captured championship titles all over the world. Pulling out of Wrestlemania was indeed a wise career move. Perhaps you were up late one night, and realized what a complete fool you made of yourself by criticizing Chris Jericho, and that if you stepped into the ring with him, you would only embarass yourself even worse, as any shred of "wrestling ability" you may have garnered from appearing in a 90 minute movie, real or imagined, would have been kicked down your throat by Chris Jericho.

Whatever little tiny hope your movie gave to "legitimizing" the sport of pro wrestling in the mainstream media has vanished. Thank god we have you. You are not the great messiah of pro wrestling, no, you are the little sissy boy actor that belongs sitting in your trailer letting the stunt doubles do all the work, as you and your agent sit there picking out what outfit you are going to wear to the Oscars. Thank you Mickey Rourke, for absolutely nothing at all.

Sincerely, your biggest fan.

Wrestling is serious business. Almost as serious as Nascar.

People, don't take him too seriously please. It only feeds the troll.

I passed your message to Mickey Rourke and he told me that you hurt him in his feelings. He is wiping his tears away with hundred dollar bills.

I just think its funny how Jericho captured titles all over the world. Good thing the writers liked him enough to put a belt around his waste.

Default Derrrrhhh !

Lol. Really now. Have we come to this point? Some wrestling loving 14-25 yr old (if he's older, that's Not the point Einstein!), who actually still enjoys it and thinks it's legitimately a Sport, is writing a LAME attempt at humor with a fictitious letter to an actor.

The only thing - ONLY - that I agreed with was the comparison to his acting career. I told a friend the same thing. They could have followed him around with a camera while he was doing his Boxing thing 8-12 yrs ago or whatever, and made a similar movie.

Obviously the thing with him going to Wrestlemania #423 was prob. just him taking advantage or the good word of mouth about the movie and his like for the guys he met during & after the film. IF he was allowed to actually take part, I wonder what page of the SCRIPT would have him taking down whomever, then getting taken down himself, and the match somehow ending in a "draw".

This just in:

An Actor {Rourke} disses other actors {Wrestlers, who think they're not actors} because he doesn't want to be a part of Wrestlemania...

In other news: Fanboy disapproves.

More at 11.

I love wrestling but I hate Chris Jericho. He's boring and extremely annoying. How he achieved so much success in the WWE is beyond me.. I think it has to do with the change wrestling has undergone since WCW and ECW were bought out.

I didn't know Chris Jericho was a member of this site. WOW Chris. Could you be anymore obvious then to actually write a letter to Mickey Rouke here? Anyway...I figure the reason Mickey Rouke didn't take part in Wrestlemania (didn't even know they still did those,) was because he is trying to IMPROVE his reputation, not destroy it.

Rourke is afraid people will compare him with Chuck Norris, who was a special guest referee at the '94 Survivor Series (where he roundhouse kicked Jeff Jarrett) and he will appear small and puny in comparison.

Mickey Rourke plays a wrestler and, by default, should then participate in Wrestlemania.

Therefore, Anthony Hopkins should begin eating people like Hannibal Lecter, and Sean Penn should be start dating guys because he played Harvey Milk?

Man does this thread eat some serious donkey hiney....

I think people are forgetting that Rourke is prone to heart attacks if he continues wrestling, and probably wasn't willing to risk his life for a match with Jericho. For a match with Hogan, maybe.
