Hitachi has revealed a 1 Terrabyte Blue Ray recorder at the Harvey Norman retail conference being held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

Hitachi is set to launch a 1000GB Blu Ray recorder. The product that was shown at the Harvey Norman Conference being held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

According to Hitachi Australia the device will go on sale in 2008 for around $2,000.

A leader in storage devices Hitachi has also released in the USA for US$400 the Deskstar 7K1000. Itwas first announced at CES 2007 as the world's first one-terabyte hard drive has now been shipping for a month. The drive offers colossal storage capacity and is well-suited for high-performance,...

Uhmmmm how is this possible? I know that TDK came up with 200gb on a BD disc but 1000gb!!! damn did Hitachi come up with a 1tg BD disc??

I believe it's a 1 terrabyte hard drive HD recorder with a Blu-ray burner to burn what you have recorded to a disc. Not a 1T disc.

I think you're right, if it was 1tg disc it would mean 40 layers, i don't think that's possible since TDK has maxed it out at 8 layers.

I am so amazed at how tech is evolving so quickly.

Duo Core to Quad Core, HDDVD to BD to Super Tera BD.

I cant wait for a affordable T1 connection.

They do, it's called cable and/or DSL. With both advertising speeds in excess of 6Mbps, that smokes a T1! The only thing you get with T1 is synchronous 1.5 and a ton of monitoring in case it fails.

Lol you wollys. Of corse its not a TB Blu-ray disk LMAO!!!!! Its the HDD in the player. Whats the point in a tb blu-ray lol. Sorry but that was amusing.
