Sandra Bullock was asked to play Trinity - Blu-ray Forum

I thought this was interesting to know that Sandra Bullock was given the part of Trinity for The Matrix first:

it's not really fair to compare the 2 actresses after the movies have come out. it would be like saying Ryan Reynolds was offered the part for Capt. Jack Sparrow.

but yeah, i thought this was interesting too.

I'm willing to bet she would have pulled the "I'm too good to continue this role through sequels" crap that many actors and actresses do, and she would have backed out after the first one. "Maybe I'll be taken more seriously if I turn down something that I know will make millions of dollars and do something low budget instead!"

um, she did speed 2:cruise control for crying out loud. i don't think she's going to pull the "i'm too good to contiune this role through sequels" crap. plus she did miss congeniality 2.

i disagree completely. i think she actually has quite a range as an actress and can a lot of great acting. i wouldn't be surprised if she wins the oscar someday. she's certainly not the keanu of acting.

Yeah, he was the first choice (thank goodness, he turned it down!), but according to her quote above, it was before anyone was yet cast as Neo.

I agree 100%, while Sandra is a pretty good actress, the part was more well suited for Carrie Ann Moss and I think she did a tremendous job with the role through the three movies.

Agreed. But I don't know how she would have done with the physical aspects of the role. Some times things work out for the better.

Example: The producer of the Bond franchise (Cubby Broccoli) had actually considered Burt Reynolds as a Bond candidate at one point when they were thinking of going American with the character. I, for one, am glad that he didn't become Bond.
