Default Clipping Receiver?

Hi everybody! I am new to the forum so take it easy on me! I have done some research and a search here on clipping and receivers, and I want to know if mine is clipping. How can I tell? I hear little popping noises at times when watching tv and listening to cds. At times it is almost like static? I hope that makes sense. I have a denon 1708 receiver with 75 watts per channel driving energy speakers (fronts are c-300's) which say they can handle up to 125 watts. I can't find minimum amount for watts on the speakers. I am also bi amping the fronts.
Any help and input would be well appreciated.
Other things of note: I think the connections are all tight. I have not noticed the popping with an sacd or dvd audio and I don't think it does it with vinyl but am not positive about the vinyl part. I notice it mostly on tv and sometimes on cd. Finally, I don't seem to notice it with the rear speakers, which are c-100's.
Thanks,
Wolfy
