Thanks as always to the NPD group.

OK there seems to be some confusion about LOTR: Conquest. It is supposed to be 360 (from what I can see, NPD also got MKDS wrong, entered it as 360, I had to change that!), but many online places are reporting PS3. I know the GAF thread says PS3 so for now I will leave it blank.

Final edit: I was right, LOTR: Conquest is for 360, game 11 is for PS3.

The Wii numbers still amaze me to this day. Everyone I know who owned one doesn't play it or got rid of it, I don't understand why it sells so good.

Not too bad.. How does that compare to January of last year?

Here is hoping for Left4Dead is on the future menu for PS3 owners. One of the rare 360 exlcusives that I want to play.

I think it has become the craziest fad I have ever seen. Most of the people I know with it play Wii Sports and that is it.

everyone i know that has it doesn't play it anymore. heck, one of my buddies has it disconnected and inside of a backpack in his closet

Not as bad as December I guess,the 360 not giving a 2 to 1 whooping to the PS3, but sales are still down compared to last year, and last place of this gen still.

I figure that many are waiting for the console to go down in price with so many articles saying that Sony would have to lower their price in 2009.
I also guess that Feb. will have better numbers with the arrival of KZ2, but the $299 price tag is becoming more and more needed.

True...at this point the higher price is really hurting the PS3. People are very cautious with their expenditures due to the economic climate.

Left 4 Dead is really fun. The multiplayer is completely unlike anything I've ever played. It SERIOUSLY needs more content though.

The Wii will keep selling until everyone has one.

Out of all 6 current-gen handhelds and home platforms including PC, the Wii is the only one that I don't own. There still isn't much reason for me to have one since everyone and their grandmothers already have one I can play anytime for the rare occasions that a good game comes out. I suppose Dragon Quest X will get me to get a Wii, but that's going to be about 2012 or 2013 at this rate for a Western release.

Unforunately, time will tell, it'll get better with the upcoming DLC [that's thankfully free, given how freaking devoid of content it is].

That said. I doubt it'll end up on the PS3, Valve has this Hate thing going on towards the PS3, but who knows. Wouldn't be willing to play it on a console at all. Even if it had ambx supports [just lights for the PC, but still, it's a really nice touch].

I'm close to doing that myself. I've unplugged my Wii's audio/video cord and the power plug is somewhere...the fad appeal on that thing wore off quickly after I got Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Never went back to it after that.

To tell you the truth, i dont see sony droping anything until fall. and by then it might be to late. 3rd place confirmed?
