Default Become a Co-Producer on Uwe Boll's Next Film by giving him $49

This is quite the story. Uwe Boll is asking fans to help him reach his proposed $18.5 million budget to fund his next project, Blackout. The film's website requests $49 per person, and in exchange you will get a co-producer credit on his film, a limited edition dvd upon the film's retail release, a certificate signed by Boll and the primary cast, and a chance to visit the set.

Check out the full details on the film's website:
http://theblackoutfilm.com/index_engl.htm

Interesting move, Uwe. Let's see how many fans you really have...

More to the point, let's see how many pop-kitsch "camp" fans you think you have by narcissistically playing the Cult-Persona angle for cheap "Worst Director" name-marketing, and how many just wish you'd go away, period...

...If you're going to crowd-dive off a stage into the loving arms of your fans, make sure they're actually intending to catch you first.

what's even better is that there's a random drawing for all the submitters; one lucky person will get half a million smackers if they win. why they're giving away money when gaining it is the entire point of the campaign in the first place makes zero sense to me

Better question. What happens to your 49 dollars if the film doesn't get made because they can't raise that much money?

You also have a chance to be the hero/heroine of the movie. 50 people will be selected 25 male 25 female where they will actually be invited to a casting call. That's kind of cool! I might pay just to have a shot at being a leading man no matter how bad the movie is. That way when it comes out on Blu-ray I can say hey, I'm IN that Blu.

Getting the special edition DVD with the autographs from the cast and the director, a chance to participate in the casting, and the cash prizes make this very attractive nonetheless.
