I hope these are branched w/ the classic FX and the new ones. I heard that they might be and that's good because I did not think the new FX work was that great. Very iffy about the prices on these.

PQ is out of this world though, +1 on that!

I sure cannot wait for this release and for those wondering, it seem like both versions will be available, the original and the re-mastered

This is really cool news. I'm a moderate Trekkie (I was only ever really into the original series and Voyager), and while I got all three seasons of T.O.S. on DVD about three and a half years ago, I never got around to watching them. And if in fact they do include both the original broadcast versions AND the Remastered versions, I'll definitely be trading the DVD's I have for the Blu's.

I also got the 3 season on DVD and they look very good but the fact they iclude both version is a very sweet deal, I will be upgrading them also.

Definitely looking forward to these, especially with the original effects. As bad as they were it still was the show I grew up with. It should all be great in blu.

I'm certainly up for these. I read somewhere (probably the bits) that both version will be included (probably seamlessly branched). I hope so

In the UK, a box set of the first 6 movies is listed for release on the same day as TOS S1. A total of £130 for both sets, ouch! The movies are listed for individual release a month later.

LOL! Yes, Paramount will jack it up to a premium price like they've always done for these season sets, and yes, I'm not holding back when this comes out, definitely a double-dip for me, along with the motion pictures of the original cast/crew that're supposed to come out around the same time as well.

Thumbs up

'Where no Bluray owner has gone before'....will pick up Seasons 2 & 3 to accompany my HDDVD combo of Season 1, which has very much impressed me with its PQ & AQ. The updated effects have been seamlessly blended in and make the series a joy to watch over and over again. Hopefully, Paramount has redesigned the BD packaging, which on the HD combo, was poorly conceived.

Will get. The HD-DVD version of Season 1 temporarily swayed me to its side. I switched to support Blu anyway (and long bfore HD-DVD's demise), so I'm now glad that the titles that almost got me supporting the wrong side is finally coming to the winning format. (Can't wait for the movies too).

I'll have to go with the Trek #2,#3,and#4 package and the first season boxed set of TOD Bluray for my collection for May and hold off for Trek "#1" and #6 until they are released seperately.I'm not about to be forced into buying Trek #5(Final Frontier), unless i find a sale price on the 6 movie set that's out of this world, no pun intended.

I like the covers for the TOS Bluray sets much better(if they stay that way).I hope Paramount drops the flimsy (and half broken most times)plastic cases they released the HD-dvd/dvd versions in which most often ended up with broken cases and dirty/scratched discs straight off the store shelves.I purposely didn't buy any of them for those reasons and held out for the Bluray versions.I hope we get a much better quality product for our money, especially with the way the economy is.If Paramount cheaps out on the quality, i'll have no problem passing on the Bluray sets of TOS as well.
