Question hd on component

i, as some of us, have early model tvs that do not have hdmi inputs. sony has a blu-ray player that will output 1080i into component inputs. x-box with hd dvd. are there others out there? (shades of the x-files)my cable box does same. i know it is not 1080p but, it would be better than 480p. movieman1942.

most certainly it would be better than 480p.

i don't know of a current player that doesn't have component output.

I had my PS3 hooked up using a PS2 component cable and it looked pretty dang good. I swapped it to a DVI input (with an HDMI/DVI adapter) and did not see a noticeable difference at 1080i. That was while watching Casino Royale.
