Kid: Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis is the best video game ever.
Billy: I disagree, it's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever. Kid: Donkey Kong sucks. Billy: You know something YOU SUCK K...so... Last edited by Sussudio; 02-18-2009 at 04:00 PM. |

DK all the way,
anybody remember the DK song "Clap your hands in the air, stomp your feet on the ground, climb up the ladder and spin yourself around , open the umbrella and answer the phone you can do it with a partner or do it all alone." the title was "Do the Donkey Kong" it was released on a video game album back in the early 80's. Had a good beat, guess that is why I remeber it. |

OG Donkey FTW!!!!!! I'm talking about the arcade version, although I have other versions on proceeding consoles which are OK if nothing else.
Mortal Kombat was a clone of SFII, and nowhere near as good...for starters...lest we forget the standard Sega Genesis controllers were awful and didn't "truly" support a fighting game format. |

HAHAHA, classic. I love Billy Madison. I voted Mortal Kombat. Best Donkey Kong game I ever played was Donkey Kong Country on the super nintendo. That games graphics were awesome!

DK had 2 boards...granted, they got progressively harder but it was the same thing over and over and was more geared to the arcade unless you had a colecovision (back when the game originally came out)
Mortal Kombat was an arcade hit that translated well into the 16-bit home video market at the time - the technology wasn't really there to carry out long stories without them being cartoony so something that looked pretty realistic (for the time) was a big hit and got a lot more play among the masses. But I will say the SNES version of Mortal was better than Sega's...mainly for the controller and the extra buttons it provided to allow more combos and finishing moves. |

Are we talking about the series or just the first installments?
I think for both, MK by a mile, but i do love Donky Kong for the 64 (wasn't that what it was called? Donkey Kong 64?) How can you mess with Kano ripping your heart out and eating it?????? |
