They have up to a 500GB Western Digital passport, perhaps they could make a 1TB iPod, or at least one of 500GB? I'm thinking for video mainly, don't really need 1TB of portable music, but maybe 1TB of video space for the long trips.

given the fact that technology seems to expand at near exponential rates, I'm pretty sure a 1TB hard drive the size of an Ipod is very much a possibility.

but its not..like i just said, you can only get a 1tb hard drive in a 3.5inch drive. and even if you could get bigger than a 500gb in a 2.5 inch drive, that's still pretty big to be slapping a screen and a battery to

Given that a few years ago, a TB of storage was housed in something about the size of a water heater and can now be on a 3.5 inch drive, it is not out of the realm of thought that it will shrink even further in the not-so-distant future.

A.) Most people don't have 1 TB of music.
B.) There's no possible way to listen to everyone of those songs more than once in about 2 years. It's just impossible. You would have to listen to it non stop every day and not do anything else. C.) Most people don't even have the 160 GB iPOD full of music. |

how big is the classic iPod now? 160GB? even then people want the smaller and cheaper 8GB touch. iPod has a long way to go before it reaches 1TB and even longer before it's small enough for people to want, but it will come. eventually.

Again as I said, I was suggesting this specifically for video content. A whole season of a TV show on iTunes is about 5-6GB, and close to 10GB if they're 45mins shows.

Most people don't watch tv shows on their iPODs. It's not really practical to everyone to have that much space.

its a nice thought and all, but like i explained...1tb drives are huge, costly and probably suck up loads of power
