Default There and Back Again.

What film did you hate with a red hot passion? That you now love. What was it? What changed you mind?

LOL me too

On subject, that is something that never really happen to me. If I love a movie I will love it right away. If not, nothing nor any amount of watching it will ever make me change my mind about it.

the biggest example i can think of is blade runner. first time i watched it i really hated it. thought it was boring and convoluted. watched it a year later and amazingly my entire perception changed. i began to understand the message of the story, the themes and most importantly the layers of pure awesomeness . i think my tastes just matured at some point and i didn't need to be entertained by an explosion every 10 minutes anymore.

i can't believe i ever bought speed 2 on dvd....

I can't really think of a film that I hated and now love. I don't think I've ever hated one. I've disliked a lot, but even it is pure garbage, I always have respect for the film itself just being a film, because I love film so much. With that said, there are terrible films I know, but I don't think I've hated one before.

Fargo. Saw it on release. Too slow. Hated the "protagoinst". Law enforcement too goofy. Midwest accent was killing me. Ignorant villains. Ignorant Protagonist. Rediculous plan and plot. Dialog was painfully slow.

After revisiting the movie I loved it for all the reasons that I initially hated it. On the second viewing I "got it".

For me its 2001. I saw it thinking Star Wars(The cover on the VHS looked cool: The space station with a ship coming out...) and ended up hating it. I was just a kid. It wasn't until years later that I was able to see it and appreciate it for what it was. "That Kubrick guy is not half bad... " lol

another one (ckent will get a kick out of this) is Superman III. I watched it like 5 years ago and thought it was awesome (in a corny sort of way...plus i liked the clark v. superman battle). but i tried watching it again last year and couldn't even finish it it was so terrible and not even funny terrible. throw this one into the "movies to watch when you get toasted" pile...

Yeah that was not one of the better Superman films at all. I will say though it was one of the first superhero films to show that bad persona of them that we see many times today.

The trouble with Superman 3 was that it was release after 1 & 2, after these first 2 movies and how good they were, number 3 would have a real hard time to compete. They also focuse too much on Richard Pryor. Nothing againts him, he was funny but the movie was Superman 3 not Richard Pryor 3

Well to me the writing wasn't good either.

Superman III (1983) is a crime on humanity. Richard Pryor, and evil Chris Reeve?

At that point: I screamed.... Bring Back Donner!!!

A movie I hated and then loved?

It has to be "Shoot 'em up" with Clive Owen... I could not believe I was watching such a movie, next day at the office and telling one of my co-workers how bad a movie that was, I realized I enjoyed all the campy sequences in it... now it is in my collection...

Casino Royale.

I didn't hate it, I just didn't really care for it the first time but after watching it about three times now, I really like it. I'm still not the biggest fan of the more "Bourne" style of Bond but the action is stellar and overall, it is a great reboot of a franchise that was getting a little stale.

Casino Royale (2006)?

I'll go along that. I was unsure and slightly disappointed: the first time I saw it.

After watching it six times in the theater. Owning two copies of Blu-Ray, one on DVD.

Casino Royale is one of the best films of recent years. An absolute classic.

I doubt that will be true of Quantum of Solace (2008)? But who knows?

I am going to agree with another poster...Blade Runner. I hated that movie. Just didnt get it.
But now...I love it. I have to say...I actually like the voice over version the best.
There is just so much to see in it...on top of a great story...
Proud to own it as part of the blu collection.
