Are these any different from the ones you can buy individually?

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. Therein lies the ultimate question then: buy individually or as a box set?

I should just direct all my movie questions to you, Sussudio. You're so on top of all this!

lol it isn't a problem. and actually i was wrong. based on above responses and on the pictures on amazon they come in separate cases.

http://www.amazon.com/Oceans-Trilogy...7823246&sr=8-2

the trilogy is being offered for as low as $42 on the marketplace ($3 shipping). if you want all 3 movies that's a great deal

Correct me if i am wrong but they are only sold in the box set. I don't want to buy the whole set, only the first one.

not sure if someone just posted pictures the cases or if they are actually included in the set. i thought i read that the set has it's own packaging, but maybe not..

either way, the trilogy is being offered for as low as $42 on the marketplace ($3 shipping). if you want all 3 movies that's a great deal
Yeah, that is a hard price to beat. You're talking about $14 per title (after shipping), and to go along with that they probably each have some sort of matching/corresponding serial or identification numbers, so you're not just picking up three random individuals.

I guess the question now then is: how is the quality? I'm assuming that since they're new(ish) movies, they're pretty solid.

I think I'm gonna buy this right now. I was really wanting to go Bourne this week, but it's still a bit too high and I know it'll keep coming down...so I'll just wait that one out.

Yeah, the three movies are individual, regualr size, which the matrix should have been....angry face.... anyways, they come in a case and another cardboard cover slips over it... tastefully done...

fyi see my edit above...they are definitely individual cases as reported by a user in an above post.

i've been looking into buying these too but i can't stand 12 so i might just swing for 11 and 13. from what i've read the PQ and AQ are serviceable. they look great on bluray, but not amazing or even close to what's considered great "eye candy" (which is sad since the series is so "colorful"). still, if you enjoy the movies i think they are well worth buying. they're definitely fun enough to warrant multiple viewings and for $45 shipped brand new i'd say go for it and don't look back

Yes, yes...I got that they're three individual titles simply wrapped up in a box; but don't you think the ones that come in the trilogy box set are specially numbered? I'm talking about the serial or UPC numbers or something like that. Perhaps I am giving the manufacturing company too much credit.

Anyway, yeah I agree with you on the price, and something about these movies...they're just incredibly re-watchable. They're the Super Mario Brothers of movies.

It wouldn't/doesn't really matter per se. Basically what I was trying to say was that -- at least I think this is how it works -- is that when a set of things are sold together, they are usually numbered as such so they can be identified as an official "set." Like if you buy one of the Star Wars DVD trilogies, I'm sure that each disc is labeled in such a way that if you were to compare them with an individual DVD of the same title (bought outside of a box set), they would be different.

In essence, this gives the box set more "value" and "legitimizes" the box set. So like if Ocean's 12 somehow got lost out of the box set, and someone tried to replace it with an individually sold Ocean's 12, it would not technically match.

Does that make sense?

Again, I'm probably thinking about this waaaay too much.

It was more of a "do you know the answer to this question?" type of question than a deal-breaker. Just curious, that's all. I don't think it would really matter too much to me.

I think the thing I was most worried about is the situation where if I were to buy it from an eBay seller or something in "like new" condition where the packaging was opened... Would I be getting the official box set, or some cobbled together set where someone is trying to dupe me? I always stay away from "like new" optical media anyway, unless it's a killer deal (bought a couple Wii games that way). I'll probably just go with the Amazon deal you linked and call it a day.

Overthinking = bad (sometimes)

oh i see what you were saying. in that case no i don't have the answer, sorry . but if you buy it brand new from a seller it will likely come just like it would retail...as for like new i would assume the same, but you're right: anyone could swap them out. enjoy them (and PM me if you encounter any problems)
