If all goes according to plan, “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves,” “inFamous,” “Heavy Rain,” “God of War III,” “MAG” and “MLB 09: The Show” will all be released in 2009 on PlayStation 3. That’s quite a line up.

Sony revealed these plans as part of a press release trumpeting the major releases coming to the platform before the end of the year. It’s the first time Sony has disclosed release plans for many of these games, even if it’s currently a vague “2009.”

This assumes delays will not interfere with Sony’s plans. What do you think of the lineup? Which games are you looking forward to the most?

Weirdly enough, they did not link or publish said "Press release", so I keep a healthy minimum dose of skeptimism (even if a 09 release makes sense for those games - where is GT5 btw?).

Why didn't they list Killzone 2? Is it multiplatform (timed exclusive or whatever).

However, I do hope they're able to deliver on these games without sacrificing the quality too much.

I don't think Sony would release one of their own games on another system unless it was PSP or PS2 but there has been no word of a PS2 release or a PSP release

No press release. I haven't seen one on SCEA's website, AP or Reuters. Don't know where MTV are sourcing this from.

I'll check with someone at SCEE, but I think MTV have got their wires crossed somewhere.

Hmm, I just got IM back from an associate at SCEE, he said this could be legit, but there is nothing on schedule for SCEA in terms of press releases of this magnitude, all he can see are GDC related stuff and previous releases like the PSP one.

I really think MTV have got their shit mixed up, and as Elandyll mentioned it is pretty ominous that MTV haven't linked or published the PR word for word. I reminds me of this:

Oh, I see, it is in Killzone 2 PR! That's why it was a bit strange and I overlooked it!

I wouldn't take this to the bank tbh, until SCE announce dates all bets are off.

i highly doubt GOWIII will make this year .. im sure that will be a march 2010 game ... when it also wont have nearly the competition ..
