Default High Static from all speakers

I have a Sony STRDA 5300es only about a year old and when i have my sound up watching blu ray at a reasonable level (never higher than -20db) their is loud static, the static increases as the volume gets higher but only happens during blu rays, not with other input settings like watching tv. I am just curious why this is and if it can be fixed because all my equipment is pretty new and not cheap.

Can you list what equipment you have and what your settings are?

Default Check Connections

Hello

I would recommend first carefully checking all of your connections.

Not a bad idea to check all, not just for your Bly-ray Player and Receiver, including your speaker connections; strange things do happen.

Thank You

All my connections are fine and i have tested my xbox 360 my cable and it seems to only be on my PS3 that this happens. my speakers are Paradigm monitor 9's, klipsch RC35, and Paradigm ADP390's and Paradigm PW2200.
i cant seem to find what the problem could be i am using an HDMI cable on my 360 and ps3 but only the ps3 has this issue. I dont have any setting that are different that would make this happen i have them set at 80hz crossover. set at small speaker. it seems to be when the ps3 is in 5.1 that the static is more evident. could it be that it is sending more power to the speaker which creates more static?

are we talking static as in a HISS? hissing from the speakers is usually normal. a static or white noise i would say is not normal.

when you watch a movie, hit triangle on the remote or controller and check the volume level. it might be too low. setting it to the middle is normal.
