NO..I didn't blow my speakers!
![]() I did however notice that the imaging was severely reduced. I listen to my system (mostly 2-channel) at a reasonable level and have my fronts about 7ft apart (measured from each speaker's centre position). Well, today I decided to crank it up significantly, because I was just in that kind of mood. I noticed that although I still could identify presence, the imaging was gone or greatly reduced. The sound was tight and muddled, almost like each instrument was struggling for recognition. So I spread my Totems apart by another foot (6" each) and what a difference that made. I could now hear each instrument even better than before and it was a wonderful revelation. For the record...I have them firing straight ahead with NO toe-in! Wow! The off-axis dispersion on these puppies is obviously is strong point on my Sttaf's. I only wish I could go beyond the current spread, but that would leave each in the middle of an access path. Not a good thing! John |
