All PS2 Gold Box: Feb 23 - Blu-ray Forum

Suprised nobody has posted this yet. I got an email from Amazon saying that Monday Feb 23 is an all PS2 gold box. There were no hints given as to what might be in there, but I'm hoping for Yakuza 2.

I was hoping for an all Genesis goldbox, but the PS2 will do.

I don't know about you guys, but an "all Genesis Gold Box" would be pretty killer.

Hopefully they will start to do more PS3 stuff. If you follow the Video Games deal of the day every day (on the "video games" main page), it's 90% of the time Nintendo WII games. Now I realize that the Wii is the best selling system, but it's been rare to see PS3 games there or in the gold box. I have written to Amazon on the matter and hope others will as well.

There's still lots of good stuff to play on the PS2 you guys. If they put in the right games, this could be a pretty killer gold box. Put in some recent good games like Persona 4, Yakuza 2, and then some much loved games like God of War 2, MGS: The Essential Collection, Resident Evil 4, God Hand, etc.

I bet there will be a guitar game in there :\

We'll see how it goes...

Not all PS3's are backwards compatible, no. My 80 GB PS3 does not play PS2 games. The PS3 wikipedia page has a chart which says which PS3's can play PS2 games.

They still develop new PS2 games? I thought the only PS2 games to be released were just versions of the PS3 game (like Madden and Guitar Hero).

There's not a lot of new games, but there are still some good things to be had.

Persona 4 just came out in December, and I as I said earlier, is one of the best recent RPGs on any system.

Atlus has a couple more things planned too, and I think they released one of the devil summoner games recently from the Shin Migami Tensei line (Persona is part of that line)

Yakuza 2 is actually like 2 years old in Japan, but it came out here in October or November.

There are also plenty of games from 2006 and 7 that I atleast have not played. Such as Godhand (wasn't part of the goldbox), which I picked up along with Yakuza 2.
