Dilema:
I have a limited budget at the moment for speakers(3-400 max) and I am wanting to upgrade the Left, Center, Right. Option 1: T90e's $360 Keep freebie center(pic in gallery) Option 2: Monitor 50's $260 CS2 $130(possibly) ![]() |

While it may come across as biased, definitely don't plan on keeping that center. I was using the Polk RM6750 set and bought my fronts and hadn't yet upgraded the center. Even with some volume levelling in the AVR, they completely overpowered my center channel, and I had to step up my upgrade path. My wife even noticed the difference and was mad that I had made the change.
If you find a good deal on the 50's/T90e's/60's, whatever, then definitely go for it. Otherwise if you know you're going Polk I'd look for deals on a CS20 or CS10 center, or keep your eyes peeled for deals on the CS1/CS2. You'll not be happy with your setup with an anemic center. At least, my family and I definitely were not. |

I had recently upgraded to two TSi-400s (Monitor 60s?) and kept my old center. I lasted about 2-3 days before I ran out to buy the CS2. You will definately want to keep the center at the same level or better then your fronts. Nothing sounded quite right, I had loud booming effects, but lacked the detail of them, and couldn't hear anything they were saying. Also when things went from left to right (or vice versa) since it was two different brands, you could noticably hear it change pitch as it went from speaker to center to speaker.
