Default Your Most Anticipated Movie Release Ever

What Cinema Released movie drove/drives you insane with anticipation. Maybe you had a countdown on your calender, you waited in line forever for tickets, or maybe could there be some one out there that even camped out to be one of the first viewers? Past, Present, or future what your story?

Easy for me:

The Phantom Menace

Didn't camp out or anything, but tried like hell to get tickets for the midnight showing. Went to that midnight showing, went to work the next day, then went to a 4pm showing. I'd built up the suspense by doing such nerdy things as going to Toys R Us one midnight for the Phantom Menace toy release. It's inconceivable that I had a girlfriend who actually stayed with me.

Empire Stirkes Back. At the time this was the most eagerly awated sequel of all time. I remember the lines went to infinity and beyond.

I was just a kid but: The Empire Strikes Back for me too; a huge line but my family and I did not have to camp out. Like I said I was just a kid but I think I was more excited bout this movie than Santa Claus or the Easter bunny that year

I'd say ROTS because of what was promised. The fall of Anakin into Vader. Flack all you want, I really liked it to.

Anybody for Titanic? Remember those lines! I recall getting pretty darn excited for it, when I saw the preview with the ship on it's side and people were falling from the sky! I was a day one ticket holder for sure.

Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers and Return of the King
The Dark Knight
The Empire Strikes Back

I never camped out to see these movies, but the anticipation was more then I could bear. Luckily they all surpassed my already high expectations too.

have to agree here , even though i'm not huge into Star Wars.

doesn't seem like anyone had a choice.

if you weren't highly anticipating this, you were either stone-cold dead or in a mental institution.

Stood in line:
Superman - Reeve
Batman - Keaton - midnight showing
Empire Strikes Back

Highly anticipated:
Dark Knight

Most of the other movies, I keep tabs of them with interest and catch them within the first few weeks of release.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - when this came out, I had just finished reading the book and I wanted nothing else in life but to see it in movie form.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - easily one of the most anticipated films of this entire decade.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - read the book before seeing the film as the first two had introduced me to Middle-Earth for the first time.

Mine was Army Of Darkness. This was back before the internet(for me anyway), and can remember every month scanning the magazine stands looking for Fangoria and a couple other mags looking for any tidbits about it. When it came time for the release, I conned my dad and brother into going to see it. My dads not really into horror and my brother mainly watches big budget films. Needless to say, they went in blind.

Past: The Dark Knight because begins was the first batman movie i actually liked (loved it) so i couldnt wait until the sequel came out, 3 years felt like forever

Present: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen because, kind of the same reason, i freakin loved the first one even with its flaws (disappearing Barricade anyone?).

Future: Batman 3, nuf said

The Phantom Menace and The entire LOTR trilogy.

The time leading to the release of those films and the time during. Those were the most exciting 3 years I can remember. It was awsome... You would see the film in theaters in the winter then get the DVD in the summer and then when you were just begging for the next one, the Extended Edtition would come out right before the release of the next film.

Good times...
