Batman: The Complete Animated Series DISCONTINUED!! - Blu-ray Forum

I have had the Batman Animated Series Complete collection on my amazon wish list since it was released in November. I check the price of it every day to see if it goes down, and it's always sat at $74.99. Now, I open up my list today, and it says "Item has been discontinued by the manufacturer." What the heck?!?!? The lowest price I can purchase it for from a seller is $189.99!!!

I know WB likes to discontinue DVD's almost as much as Disney, but after 3 months!!! That's ridiculous!!! Does anyone have any information on why this has been done, and do they plan to re-release it in the near future?

Wow, I am happy that I picked up my seasons last year. My favourite show when I was a kid and still today is a fantastic show

Hopefully it is just an error in amazon's database because it seems weird they would discontinued it that quickly after it's release

I bought each volumes some years back as they were release, never planned of buying this complete set.

If anyone is interested on Amazon.ca there is a new set for $90

What a horrible choice to discontinue! This was my favorite Batman series. I’m glad I have them all though. Bought the last one I needed (volume 1) when they were on sale at best buy for $14.99 in 2007. Still it sucks. Maybe they are going to do a collectors addition?

This is HORRIBLE. Hopefully this will make it to Blu anyways. I'd rather have it on Blu than DVD.

No, that's what they cancelled--the collector's edition. They will probably always have the "volumes" for sale. I am a "completist" and I wanted the whole set.

I remember it said that the collector's edition would be available for a limited time only. The separate volumes will still be available indefinitely.

I decided to buy it from Amazon last month after I saw that WHV had sold all of theirs.

I own all the volumes for Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, and Justice League/Unlimited all season and season one on Blu-ray, totally worth it, but maybe they are prepping a Blu-ray release

There's a reason why things are called "limited edition." It wasn't discontinued, only a limited number were manufactured and Amazon has sold through it's stock.

You can buy it from Wal-Mart.com for $75.86. They have the wrong picture posted for it, but it should be the right item. You could use the Site-to-Store option so you could ensure it was the right item before it got to your house.

they're not discontinuing the show. they're not discontinuing anything. what we're talking about here is the complete series on dvd in a limited edition collector's edition that has run out of copies.
