Thumbs up

I'd kill for BDs of the contemporary Gamera movies, especially the third one with Iris.

Read this thread... it shows some very strong potential for TOHO Godzilla on blu-ray in the future.

Not just you! I just uncovered all my old Godzilla VHS tapes under my bed yesterday... lol. I didn't get the DVDs because I heard a lot of negative things about the encoding, sound quality, etc.

I'm actually watching Revenge of Iris right now... man that shot where Iris deflects the fireball, brings it's tentacles smashing to the ground and explosions errupting everywhere is so awesome, I can't find the words to describe it.

Is it just me, or were the 90's a kind of golden age for Kaiju films? Also Americans need to stop trying to emulate these movies. Cloverfeild was just terrible. It's not about the special effects and Hollywood actors, its about the campyness and a couple of huge monsters shooting plasma shit at each other and destroying cities. It's not that hard of a concept.

Anyway I would love to see the 90's Godzilla and Gamera movies on Blu-Ray! It would be nostalgia on a level not seen since I hooked up my SNES to my home theater system this past Christmas!

I was just about to point it out. Yeah, HD Godzilla seems to be a good possibility. Hopefully Toho releases them soon.

P.S. We can get them as soon as Toho releases them, since Japan and the US are in the same region. May not get subtitles, but I'm going for Japanese releases.
