Default Non-Logitech universal remote controls

Looks like the Logitech Harmony remotes are very popular, and while they're very nice gadgets, they're also very pricey.

What about non-Logitech remotes that people own - what kind, how much did you spend & how well does it work for you?

I bought a One For All URC8820 for $17 shipped. It's an eight-device unit with learning & macro capability. There are no real bells & whistles (the Master Power key has a red LED behind it - that's it).

I was able to use the supplied codes to program it to control my Pioneer receiver (actually, it comes pre-programmed for Pioneer receivers), my Panasonic TV & my Dish HD DVR Satellite receiver.

I did have to teach every key to control my Samsung blu-ray player because none of the included codes worked. The learning function is very easy - I think it took me 4 minutes from start to finish.

Also, the wife gets on me for over-complicating things with multiple remotes, so it had to be easy for her. I programmed the TV key & the DVD key with macros that turn on the necessary devices & change whatever settings need to be changed for related viewing. Passed her test completely.

I'm very happy with it, and for me it's all about the learning & macros. Any other good units out there for cheap?
